For Our Virgins
Newbies, Noobs, Birgins: ah, the thrill of going to Burning Man for the first time! We want you to get acculturated before you show up at camp, all wide-eyed, bushy-tailed, glittered-up and behaving like a Sparkle Pony. So listen up!
- Read the First Timer’s Guide.
- Take the Guiding 10 Principles to heart. These are the Cornerstones of Burning Man philosophy. And ours!
- Read last year’s Survival Guide. While you’ll receive a copy of this for 2024 with your tickets, get started now! It’s never too early to start preparing for this, because Burning Man is not a vacation.
- And it would behoove you to study the Anthropological History of Burning Man. One can never have enough perspective.
Curiouser and Curiouser
Try to imagine yourself here Burn Sunday morning, at sunrise – on the East side, so the sun slowly rises behind us and illuminates this beautiful Temple. We will sing. We will laugh. We will cry. And you dear one, will never ever experience anything like it.
We Have Been Placed!
Sunday at the Temple!
“Can we have a DO-OVER”, Gunita asks, when I see her at the Robot Heart Residency…
“Um, how about yes?”
Take 2!
More to come with the Luna Art Car at the Temple!
Reflections on “Curiouser & Curiouser”

Preacher Man
This year’s theme for Burning Man – one of the most progressive gatherings in the world – is Curiouser and Curiouser, which is lifted from Alice in Wonderland, a story published in 1865. Why would we still be talking about this story almost 180 years later? What can it teach us about today? How can it possibly still be relevant? Let’s talk about it on Sunday morning in the Choir Dome. See you at 11am.
